Kitchen Display (KDS) & Coursing

Ticket board with color-coded timing. Bump, recall, void. All-day count per item.

KDS Setup

Open /pos/kds on any tablet or TV in the kitchen

Filter by station: Grill, Fry, Prep, Expo, Bar, Cold

Configure routing rules in Settings > Printers & KDS

Items are routed to specific KDS stations based on their menu category. Bar items appear on the bar display, food items on the kitchen display, etc.

Ticket Timing

Tickets are color-coded based on age:

Green — under 3 minutes

Yellow — 3 to 5 minutes

Red — over 5 minutes

All-day counts show total quantity of each item across all active tickets — helps the kitchen batch-prep popular items.

Coursing & Course Firing

Multi-course meal sequencing with per-item course assignment and fire-on-demand.

Assign course numbers (1–6) to each item in the order ticket using the Course dropdown

Course 0 = fire immediately. Courses 1–6 fire in sequence when the server taps "Fire Next Course"

KDS shows course badges on each ticket item with color-coded timing

Seat assignment works alongside courses — assign items to Seat 1/2/3 and Course 1/2/3 independently

Kitchen holds later courses until earlier ones are bumped — perfect for appetizer → entree → dessert flow

Speed of Service

Track per-station ticket times at /pos/reports/speed. Identify bottlenecks and optimize kitchen workflow with time-to-bump metrics broken down by station and time of day.
