Billing & Subscription
Your reseller handles your billing. Pricing, invoices, payment methods andrefunds all go to them. Synalux does not bill you directly.
What you pay for
You pay for registers.
A register is any place where an order is entered:
You are billed for each register that took at least one order during the
billing period.
A register is not the same thing as a seat. Everywhere else in POS, "seat"means a guest at a table — used for split checks and per-guest delivery. See
Tables & Floor Plan. Table seats do not affect your bill.
What is always free
| Item | Billed? |
|---|---|
| Kitchen and expo displays (KDS) | No. A KDS cannot take an order. Add as many as your kitchen needs. |
| Staff logins and PINs | No. Unlimited. |
| Payment terminals and card readers | No. A card reader is hardware, not a register. |
| Online ordering and QR ordering | No. Included. |
Give every person their own PIN. Voids, comps, discounts and drawer counts are
all recorded against a PIN. If people share one, you cannot tell who did what.
Extra PINs cost nothing.
How the count works
The count follows what people actually did, not what is set up:
for that period.
order, with dates. Your reseller can check it with you.
Your invoice
Your invoice covers the period that just ended, not the month ahead.
That is why it has two lines:
| Line on the invoice | Amount |
|---|---|
| The subscription line | quantity 0 — $0.00 |
POS seats used during completed billing period | your actual charge |
Both lines are correct. The charge cannot be worked out until the period closes
and we know which registers were used.
If a payment fails
Your tills keep working. Synalux does not shut down a dining room because acard was declined.
| Attempt | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1st and 2nd | Your card is retried automatically. Nothing else changes. |
| 3rd | The account is marked suspended. Your reseller loses their access to manage your venue. Your own staff PINs keep working and your tills keep taking orders. |
| A payment succeeds | The suspension clears automatically, and your reseller's access comes back with it. |
You do not need to call anyone to switch access back on. It returns by itself
once a payment goes through.
If you have paid and the account still shows suspended, contact your reseller.
