Referrals & Cross-Practice Chat Module

Overview
The Referrals & Cross-Practice Chat Module is designed to streamline inter-practice communications, enhance collaboration between healthcare providers, and ensure efficient referral management. This module facilitates secure messaging and document sharing among practice administrators and office managers while providing robust referral tracking capabilities.
Key Features
Referral Tracking
Effortlessly manage the referral process by tracking essential details such as the referring and receiving provider, specialty areas, reason for referral, diagnosis codes, urgency level, and authorization status. This feature ensures that all critical information is readily accessible throughout the referral lifecycle.
Status Lifecycle
Navigate through a clear and defined referral status lifecycle: from Pending, indicating the referral has been initiated but not yet sent; to Sent, where the referral has been dispatched; then Accepted, when the receiving practice agrees to see the patient; followed by Scheduled, once an appointment is confirmed. The process concludes with either Completed, if the referral was successfully addressed, or marked as Expired or Declined if necessary.
Cross-Practice Chat
Leverage HIPAA-compliant messaging capabilities for seamless communication between practice administrators and office managers across different practices. This ensures secure and confidential interactions without compromising patient data privacy.
Attachment Sharing
Efficiently share essential files such as images, X-rays, clinical documents, lab results, and prescriptions directly within the chat interface. This feature streamlines the referral process by enabling quick access to necessary information, reducing delays, and improving overall patient care coordination.
Threaded Conversations
Engage in organized, per-referral chat threads that include read receipts, ensuring clear communication and accountability. Each thread is dedicated to a specific referral, allowing for focused discussions and easy tracking of responses and actions taken by all parties involved.
Real Examples
Explore practical use cases such as referrals from Pediatrics to Psychiatry (for ADHD evaluations), Dermatology to Physical Therapy (regarding psoriatic arthritis management), or Physical Therapy back to Dermatology (for wound care consultations). These examples illustrate the module’s versatility and its ability to support a wide range of healthcare scenarios.
Authorization Tracking
Manage referral authorizations with ease by tracking authorization numbers, their expiry dates, and whether prior authorizations are required. This feature helps ensure compliance with insurance requirements and reduces the risk of denied referrals or unnecessary delays in care.
