Medications & Prescriptions Module

Drug Catalog
The Drug Catalog within the Synalux platform provides an extensive list of over twelve medications, complete with their NDC codes, classifications, schedules, routes of administration, and common doses. This comprehensive catalog serves as a reliable resource for healthcare providers to ensure accurate medication management.
Active Prescriptions
The Active Prescriptions feature offers a detailed, per-patient view of all current medications, including dosage instructions, frequency, prescribing physician details, pharmacy information, and refill tracking capabilities. This ensures that patients receive the right medications at the correct times, enhancing treatment adherence and efficacy.
Drug Classes
Synalux supports a diverse array of drug classes to cater to various medical needs, such as SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors), stimulants, retinoids, biologics, bronchodilators, NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs), antibiotics, and anticonvulsants. This classification system facilitates easy identification and management of medications based on their therapeutic use.
iPLEDGE Tracking
The iPLEDGE Tracking feature is specifically designed for monitoring patients prescribed Accutane isotretinoin, a powerful acne treatment known for potential serious side effects. It automates the tracking of monthly lab requirements as mandated by the iPLEDGE program, ensuring compliance and patient safety.
Status Lifecycle
The Medications & Prescriptions Module includes a robust status lifecycle management system that allows prescriptions to be moved through states such as Active, On Hold, Discontinued, Completed, and Cancelled. This system provides clear visibility into the status of each medication order, facilitating informed decision-making by healthcare providers.
Interaction Warnings
To prevent adverse drug interactions, Synalux incorporates a Drug-Specific Warnings array that alerts healthcare providers to potential issues such as serotonin syndrome, QTc prolongation, and teratogenicity. These warnings are designed to promote safe prescribing practices and patient well-being.
Pharmacy Routing
The Pharmacy Routing feature allows for the designation of a specific pharmacy per prescription, making it easier to prepare prescriptions for e-prescribing. This streamlines the medication process, reducing manual errors and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
